about

LASSEMO develops and produces projects across performing arts, film, and sound works. The platform is led by André Olsen Lassemo and serves as a framework for his artistic practice, with a primary focus on original works and selected collaborations.

ARTISTIC PRACTICE

LASSEMO is driven by a writing-based practice. The written text is the starting point and primary force behind all projects, shaping work across performing arts, film, and sound works.

The writing often draws from stories situated at the margins of society, focusing on people and environments shaped by exclusion, institutional pressure, and unequal power relations. These are stories where agency is limited, choices are constrained, and consequences are lived rather than explained.

Projects are developed through both independent work and close collaboration. Depending on the project, André works as a playwright, producer, director, and performer, allowing the written material to be carried through development, production, and presentation without losing its core.
